MIS grad, Alteryx certified, based in the Twin Cities.
Work
Full-time internship on JLL's retail data team. I came in without a real estate background and had to pick up the domain knowledge fast — what cap rates mean, how franchise development pipelines work, the difference between NNN and gross leases — while simultaneously learning their internal tools and databases.
Most of my time went into Tableau and SQL. I built dashboards that connected live to JLL's Oneview PostgreSQL database, which meant the data was always current and I had to write queries that were actually efficient, not just correct. I also got my Alteryx Core Certification during the internship and used it to automate some of the recurring data prep work.
Outside of dashboards, I built a financial model in Excel for franchisees comparing lease vs. buy decisions over 10-year horizons, and put together a demo PowerApp for a client pitch. By the end I was handling ad-hoc data requests independently and presenting findings to the broader team.
Machined and polished automotive parts against demand charts, operated forklift and cherry picker, managed warehouse inventory.
