Case study · JLL Retail Corporate Services
A six-dashboard Tableau workbook, connected live to JLL's Oneview PostgreSQL database, that lets a franchise development team see where hundreds of sites stand without querying the database themselves.
JLL's franchise development team tracks hundreds of sites across the country for clients like restaurant chains. Each site moves through stages: site selection, lease negotiation, and build-out. The status data lived in a database, and getting a picture of where everything stood meant digging through it.
I built the six-dashboard workbook and wrote the SQL and Tableau calculations behind it. I came in without a real estate background, so I learned the domain (pipeline stages, comparable leases, rent per square foot) at the same time as the tooling.
Because the workbook reads live, the numbers were always current. That also meant the queries had to be efficient, not just correct.
Shows the active pipeline by stage, with stoplight indicators on stage duration: green if a site is on track against a 60-day target, red if it has stalled. The point is to surface stuck sites at a glance instead of making the team hunt for them.
Draw a radius on the map to see how many potential sites fall inside it, alongside comparable lease data from nearby deals. It supports the early decision of where a client should look.
Benchmarks negotiated rent per square foot, tenant improvement (TI) allowances, and site sizes against market averages, filterable by client, state, quarter, and year.
These dashboards run on real client data, so this page describes them instead of showing them.
